Exactly! That is how new languages should be added.
Introduction to Panlexia
Re: Introduction to Panlexia
I don't understand why your list doesn't have a definition for "axe" for example, since the definition is available on the Concepticon via the last column?
https://github.com/concepticon/concepti ... 6-1310.tsv
https://concepticon.clld.org/parameters/677
I suppose you use only the WOLD data...
https://wold.clld.org/meaning/9-25#0/-65/-79
Well... I have to study Python finally... To read your code...

Re: Introduction to Panlexia
Let's see what we have for the word Broom:
https://wold.clld.org/meaning/9-38#0/24/-5
https://ids.clld.org/parameters/9-380#0/19/150
https://concepticon.clld.org/parameters/245
WOLD
Description: 'a large brush with a long handle, used for sweeping floors'
CONCEPTICON
A tool used to sweep and clean the floor, made of a bundle of straws or twigs attached to a long handle.
Even in NorthEuraLex, if you filtered by Broom,
http://northeuralex.org/parameters
You see that the last column linked to Concepticon
Concepticon should be the reference to get definition when possible: https://github.com/concepticon/concepti ... pticon.tsv

Re: Introduction to Panlexia
Very well! There are good definitions in Concepticon and we should mine them.
So far all data is from WOLD and NorthEuraLex. Only the latter includes Concepticon ids, so we can link at least them. Or maybe there is a way to link from WOLD/WLT ids to Concepticon, which would be even better. Sorry, but I have looked at Concepticon only cursorily even though I have known of its existence for a while already. It's good that you have digged out more information.

Re: Introduction to Panlexia
Wow! We can get additional languages from Concepticon: Vietnamese, Wolof and more! This is great! We live exciting times!
Re: Introduction to Panlexia
I see you last message just now.
I was about to cross-post that:
Now it's about computer techniques, but also psychological strategy: how to do a lot with very little time and very few people, how to bring people in and improve their skills on the subject. I'm going to start by learning patience, because I've eaten up my time in advance for a few days or even more
I was about to cross-post that:
But it seems I had already my answer. The semantic field "Religion and belief" of CONCEPTICON has more concept sets than the one of WOLD, which has more than the one IDS.
Furthermore CONCEPTICON has more semantic fields than WOLD, which has more than of IDS.
So why not use an extract of CONCEPTICON for foundation (field:set:category definition) then complete with WOLD and NorthEuraLex references to get the translations ?
Can someone help me to get the process to extract data from CONCEPTICON?
