Pandunia revena

I am putting Pandunia back in shape at last.

I took the liberty to redesign it again because the language was practically unused and therefore dead. That version of Pandunia, which has been used the most by other people besides me, was version 1, roughly in years 2018-2022. There could be many reasons why it was the most popular version, but certainly one of them was that it was easy to grasp the language because it had a clear structure thanks to the word class markers (word-final vowels). People could start writing their own texts pretty quickly in that version of the language.

In the meanwhile I have analyzed other auxiliary languages, because I am writing a book about them. It has helped me to understand more clearly than before what works and what doesn't. It has helped me to make up my mind about certain matters, which troubled me during the times when Pandunia version 1 was active. I made a serious mistake when I tried to extend the use of the word class markers into all parts of speech, like pronouns, numerals and prepositions. Another mistake was to try and force all nouns to use the same part of speech ending or a limited set of endings.

I understand now that those were fool's errands. Human languages can't be and they don't need to be formally perfect systems. Nouns are the largest open word class. It's impossible to assign only one ending for nouns because of continuous influx of loanwords and proper names. The nouns are marked as nouns by not being verbs, adjectives and adverbs. It's as simple as that.

The website is still a work in progress. Especially the pages about Verbs and Sentence Structures are still only half updated.
